Last updated: 23 October 2026

This notice explains how STAR K9 PROTECTIVE SERVICES LTD ("we", "us") collects and uses personal information through this website and when you contact us. We are the data controller for this information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

STAR K9 PROTECTIVE SERVICES LTD, a company registered in England & Wales, company no. 17521279. Registered office: 21 Audley Lane, Blackburn, BB1 1LT.

Contact us about your information by email at admin@stark9protective.co.uk, by phone on 07438 216763, or by post to our registered office.

What we collect

  • Details you give us through the quote form, or by phone, email or WhatsApp: your name, company, email address, phone number, the site's town or postcode and (if you give it) its address, and information about the security cover you need.
  • Technical information your browser sends when you use the website, such as your IP address and browser type. Our hosting provider uses this to deliver the website and protect it from spam and attacks.

You don't have to give us your details, but without them we can't reply to your enquiry or prepare a quote.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote: because you asked us to, as a step before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • To deliver our services if you become a client: to perform our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)).
  • To keep the website secure and block spam: our legitimate interest in protecting the website and our inbox (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • To keep business, tax and insurance records: to meet our legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).

We don't sell your information, use it for unrelated marketing, or make decisions about you by automated means.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with the service providers who help us run the website and reply to you. They act on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare: hosts the website, runs the spam check (Turnstile) and stores our enquiry log.
  • Resend: delivers the emails about your quote request.
  • Our email provider: stores the emails we send and receive.
  • Google Fonts: delivers the website's fonts, and receives your IP address to do so.
  • WhatsApp (Meta): if you message us on WhatsApp, the conversation is handled under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

We may also share information with our professional advisers or insurers where needed, or with the police or other authorities where the law requires it.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of these providers store or process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations (such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, which require your information to be protected to UK standards.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
  • Client records: up to 6 years after our contract ends, to meet tax, insurance and legal requirements.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • get a copy of the information we hold about you
  • have inaccurate information corrected
  • have your information deleted
  • restrict how we use it
  • object to us using it on the basis of our legitimate interests
  • receive information you gave us in a portable format

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. It's free, and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies & storage

We don't use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, so we don't ask for cookie consent.

  • Theme choice: if you switch between dark and light mode, your choice is saved in your browser's session storage. It's only used to keep that look while you browse, and it's cleared when you close the tab.
  • Security: Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies to tell people from bots and protect the website and the quote form from abuse. These don't track you across other websites.

The law allows these without consent because they're strictly necessary, or because you asked for them.
